Castlebar Walking Festival
The Castlebar Walking Festival known as the Castlebar International Four Day Walks Festival is a world renowned annual walking event, organised over 4 days with varying length walks to suit all as well as hosting lively music and entertainment each evening.  This attracts large numbers to Castlebar each July from all over the world.
Aside from the Walking Festival, Castlebar and environs has many beautiful walks to enjoy.

The Royal Theatre (www.royaltheatre.ie) is a large purpose built and modern theatre with weekly concerts, live bands and various shows.

The Museum of Country Life (www.museum.ie) is part of the National Museum and situated in Turlough House, just 6 miles from Castlebar this branch of the National Museum concentrates on country life in Ireland and is a wonderful place to visit.

For movie lovers the Mayo Movie World (www.mayomovieworld.ie) is a 7 screen Cinema theatre just a 4 minute walk from Kenny's Guest House.

Golf is very well catered for in Castlebar and indeed County Mayo.  Castlebar Golf Club (www.castlebargolfclub.ie), described as "The Augusta of Connaught", boasts a wonderful 18 hole parklands course open all year round and with very reasonable green fee rates and always welcoming to visitors.  Other courses within short range include Claremorris, Ballinrobe, Westport, Ballina, Mulranny, Ballyhaunis and Enniscrone as well as the world famous Carne Golf Link.
