The Wild Atlantic Way spans Ireland’s spectacular coastline from Donegal to Cork. 

 

 

Great Western Greenway

It is the longest off-road cycling and walking trail in Ireland. It extends from Achill Island to Mulranny, Newport, Westport, Castlebar and The National Museum of Country Life in Turlough.

 

 

Castlebar International Four Days’ Walks

This world renowned annual walking event is organised over four days in July. The walks vary in length to suit  all levels. It is the ideal opportunity to walk and talk, to share the bogs, rivers, mountains and unspoilt beauty of the West of Ireland with kindred spirits.

 

Royal Theatre

The Royal Theatre is the largest entertainment and concert venue in the West of Ireland.

 

 

National Museum of Ireland – Country Life

Home to the national collection of objects representing the traditional way of life in Ireland since 1850,  just 6 miles from Castlebar.

 

 

Golf

Casgtlebar Golf Club “The Augusta of Connaught” boasts a wonderful 18 hole parklands course open all year round with reasonable green fees. Other courses within a short drive include Claremorris, Ballinrobe, Westport, Ballina, Mulranny, Ballyhaunis and Enniscrone and the world famous Carne Golf Link.
